Grand Lake State Park

Grand Lake State Park

Welcome to Grand Lake State Park! Grand Lake is a gorgeous lake in northeast Oklahoma.  This lake winds along the Neosho River and covers a massive 46,000 surface acres which makes it one of the largest lakes in Oklahoma.  There is plenty of outdoors activities available at Grand Lake including fishing, hiking, camping, boating, RVing, and more.  If you love the outdoors, you will love Grand Lake.

One of the wonderful things about Grand Lake is Grand Lake State Park.  The State Park is divided into six main areas around the lake.  We have a separate page covering each area, but will give a summary of the areas below.

Bernice Area: There are 33 RV sites with water and 50 amp electric hook-ups and 150 primitive tent sites. The RV sites are close to the lake, which has a long, shallow shoreline, especially good when taking the kids swimming. Also for the kids are two large playgrounds. Two comfort stations with hot showers are located on either side of the park. Picnic areas are scattered throughout the park, and there is one covered shelter for larger groups. Boat ramps provide easy access to the lake.

Cherokee Area: The Cherokee Area is divided into four smaller parks. The Lakeside area has 12 RV sites and 15 tent sites. The Riverside area has 15 pull-thru RV sites with full hookups (5 along the banks of the river) and 50 tent sites. The Grand View area has four RV sites with electric service only and 45 tent sites. The Grand Cherokee area has 13 RV sites with full hookups including 50 amp electric; some sites have pull-thru service.

Amenities include swimming beach, playground, picnic sites, restrooms with showers and lighted boat ramp.

Disney Area: This is a day use area on the main lake with great views of Grand Lake. There is a parking area and picnic tables available for use.

Little Blue Area: There are 20 campsites for tents, with its own picnic table. Amenities include a conveniently located comfort station with restrooms and hot showers. The Little Blue Area includes a great stream coming from the dam that is great for swimming.

Honey Creek Area: Open year-round with 49 RV sites and 100 tent sites. Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, picnic tables, a dump station and four comfort stations with showers.

Spavinaw Area: Similar to the Little Blue Area, this beautiful park and campground is below the dam and has a great cool, clear stream for swimming. There are plenty of trees for shade and many campsites for camping.

Twin Bridges Area: There are 60 RV sites that require reservations and 100 tent sites that are first come, first served. Five one-room lake huts for rent have electricity, ceiling fans, heat and screened windows. Outside each hut is a grill and table. This is one of the best parks on the lake.

Enjoy Grand Lake State Park!
